Old Orcutt Square

Our involvement in this comprehensive project encompassed a multifaceted approach, including project management, design, consultant coordination, and construction administration services. The primary focus was on orchestrating a transformative exterior refresh for Old Orcutt Square. This extensive revitalization involved a meticulous process of applying new exterior paint, integrating new and replacement windows, new entry doors, upgrading exterior lighting for enhanced aesthetics and safety, and addressing structural concerns by replacing deteriorated stairs while ensuring compliance with ADA standards.

A significant highlight of the project was the addition of a new covered porch and entry element, seamlessly blending functionality with architectural appeal. Our commitment to this endeavor extended beyond the surface, delving into the intricacies of design coordination and construction oversight to bring about a revitalized and accessible Old Orcutt Square that not only met but exceeded expectations.

Project Features

  • Refresh

The original project involved a building with large horizontal sliding windows, a front trellis, and a second-floor eyebrow roof. However, lacking in curb appeal and adequate lighting, the decision was made to remove the trellis and eyebrow, replacing them with a covered porch that allowed for the introduction of strategic lighting at the new business entry. The windows were entirely replaced with vertical single hung ones, enhancing proportions and visual balance. To compensate for the reduced width, shutters were added, contributing both to curb appeal and a splash of color. The entire building underwent a transformation with a new paint palette featuring a creamy white hue for the main body, complemented by black windows and dark brown accents, resulting in a cohesive and revitalized aesthetic.

  • Covered Porch

Welcoming and sheltered, the newly introduced covered porch serves as a gracious transition into the square, offering protection from the elements and providing a comfortable space for patrons. Its design seamlessly aligns with the overall aesthetic of the exterior refresh, enhancing the cohesiveness of the revitalized space. Whether shielding patrons from unpredictable weather fluctuations or establishing an inviting entry point, the covered porch emerges as a distinctive feature, playing a pivotal role in elevating the overall charm, usability, and aesthetic appeal of Old Orcutt Square.
